On Friday 5th April 2019 Royal Court Comedy Clubs returns to Bacup Royal Court Theatre. Royal Court Comedy Club brings together the very best in comedy talent from around the UK by providing a platform for established and up and coming comedy talent. Our fourth comedy night features 4 of the most talented established comedians from the UK comedy circuit.
Host Comedian – Tim Bradbury
Opening Comedian – Stephen Cookson
Middle Comedian – Addy Van Der Borgh
Headline Comedian – Phil Walker

Host Comedian – Tim Bradbury

Tim Bradbury is a newcomer to the comedy circuit but he has already made his mark. After doing wind-ups on Manchester’s biggest radio station, (Key103), as 'Tiny Tim', Tim has set his mind more on stand-up comedy. With over 13,500 hits on YouTube as 'Tiny Tim', Tim is determined to be a top-flight comedian. With recommendations from comedian/actor Trevor Lynch and top comedian Toby Hadoke, Tim will stop at nothing to be one of the best in the country. With his unique beatboxing comedy and now using the 'Tiny Tim' voice on stage, Tim's comedy is second to none. Although Tim is relatively new to the comedy circuit, more and more promoters are seeing the talent in this rising star. The crowd warm to him instantly with his cheeky swagger and relaxed manor on stage. Tim has been tipped by some of Britain’s top comedians as 'one to watch' so if you get chance to see the class performance by him, do it and 'catch him whilst he's cheap'.

Opening Comedian – Stephen Cookson

Stephen Cookson "King of the one line joke, outstanding". Hailing from the North West, Cookson exploded onto the comedy scene in 2014 with two Initial appearances at The Frog and Bucket, Preston, both times finishing a close second. From there he finished second in a New Comedian of the Year competition at Chorlton Chuckles Comedy Club in Manchester (Alex Perry), and since then has rapidly become one of the most in demand acts on the circuit. "Frankly I hope he stops doing comedy before he costs me work" - Gary Delaney

Middle Comedian – Addy Van Der Borgh

Addy Van Der Borgh makes audiences laugh from the moment he steps on stage. It may be helped by the comically large nose, mad eyes and manic expression, but it is principally that Addy Van Der Borgh is a very funny man and great stand-up comedian. As someone who spent his student life studying clowning (oh yes) at LAMDA, Addy Van Der Borgh is a physical comedian - in every aspect of the words. Combining brilliant comic timing with a diverse and dysfunctional set of voices and characters, stand-up Addy Van Der Borgh brings to life those worlds of the nerd - computers, museums and libraries. His mix of mimicry, observations and slapstick comedy have won him outings on TV’s The Stand-up Show and Live at Jongleurs and three sell-out years at the Edinburgh Festival.

Headline Comedian – Phil Walker

Phil started his career on the “Mainstream circuit” but before long decided to change direction & try the comedy club scene around the year 2000. Phil’s first comedy club appearance was at the Frog & bucket comedy club in Manchester. Shortly after in 2002 at the famous Comedy store in Manchester he was voted City Life Comedian of the year, Previous winners include Peter Kay & Steve Coogan .As well as regular gigs at the Comedy Store where he was also part of the successful Men @ Work improv nights he can now be seen at most of the leading comedy clubs throughout the UK including the Jongleurs Comedy Club chain, Highlight Comedy Club chain, The Glee, The Last laugh, The Frog & Bucket, Comedy Central & Rawhide.
