MUSTN'T GRUMBLE...
Comedy Favourites The Grumbleweeds return
Having already chalked up over 50 years in showbiz, comedy veterans The Grumbleweeds continue to delight audiences around the globe and they return to Bacup Royal Court Theatre on Saturday 11th September 2021 after two hugely popular shows at the theatre in 2017 and 2018.
The Grumbleweeds phenomenon began in 1962 with a bunch of lads from Leeds. Over the years, the act grew to dominate the UK live comedy circuit and ended up with countless TV and Radio series to boot. “The popularity of the act has never really gone away” reflects founder member Robin Colvill. “When we weren't on TV or on the radio, we were busy in the theatres, cabaret clubs or on cruise ships.” He adds “It's just never really slowed down. It works equally well with family audiences, summer shows or theatres, both at home and abroad”

It's a timeless mix of comedy, impressions and visual gags that have kept the act fresh and, above all else, popular with the British public.“The response to the act is as good as it ever was”, says Grumbleweed, James Brandon. “We've kept on adding to and updating the show over the years, keeping all the classic routines, and adding new ones, making sure it's all current, up to date... and above all else funny! I guess that's why it continues to play to huge laughs wherever we go. If there's a secret to its longevity then that has to be it”The show has received praise throughout the theatrical world, earning the lads the right to call themselves 'The Guv'nors of live comedy'. Catch the show live at Bacup Royal Court Theatre on Saturday 11th July 2020.
